Tracing Vienna’s Schlurfs through the Prater

Vienna Sonic Memories takes you to historical sites in and around Vienna’s Prater. The stations tell stories of jazz, dance and youth counterculture under National Socialist rule: from a manually operated music machine and homemade suitcase gramophones to the Stadionbad swimming pool, the Second Viennese Coffeehouse and the Prater’s amusement rides. Through augmented reality, sound works, literary texts, archival material and eyewitness accounts, vanished meeting places and stories of resistance can be experienced anew in today’s urban space.

Here’s the link to the tour. To experience the objects in augmented reality, open the link at each location using the XR Browser or Google Chrome. You can download these browsers from your app store.
