SPIRAL BIKE urban echo

SPIRAL BIKE | Concert | Performance | Soundride

SPIRAL BIKE invites you to immerse yourself in a transformative exploration of sound, movement, and the urban environment. RAD Performance reimagines the bicycle not merely as a mode of transport but as a dynamic instrument that merges with the surrounding space to create a new form of public performance. The bike becomes a vehicle, an instrument, and a performer, guiding the audience through a multisensory experience where electronic music and physical movement converge.

SPIRAL BIKE engages with the city’s inherent soundscape, playfully composed with the urban surroundings, continuity, speed, and acceleration. We seek to reclaim public spaces by using sound as a medium and a vehicle for collaboration, challenging power structures that shape our cities.

RAD Performance encourages audiences to listen in new ways, become active participants in the sonic redefinition of their surroundings, and engage in a collaborative practice that challenges and redefines the city’s acoustic identity. SPIRAL BIKE is an invitation to ride, listen, and collectively reimagine the urban soundscape.

Rent focuses on experimental, analog sounds combined with dark, glitched ambiences, located somewhere between dark ambient and industrial noise. Harsh machines and digital remnants work together to create strongly processed sounds that relate to bodily experiences as well as to digital dissociations. Rent ist the pseudonym of artist and ecologist Katrin Euller. Rent’s sounds refer to industrial ecosystems, interconnections, dark landscapes and their stories and the stories of those who inhabit these places. At the same time, it is the processes of sound creation itself that emerge in Rent’s compositions: sounds influence each other, reinforce each other, cancel each other out, dissolve and become noise, sound like the city, a car alarm for example. Then everything gets lost in the fog again.

Rent recently played at Donaufestival (AT), Elevate Festival (AT), Various Others (GE) as well as in several Clubs and Locations in and around Vienna. Together with the Viennese Label Ventil Records Rent will release their first LP in June 2024 after releasing the EP As Cold As Sunlight in collaboration with TRANSFORMER and Wilhelm Show me the Major Label in 2022. Katrin Euller is also part of several artistic collaborations and proud member of the doom band EAERES.

Hansi3D and Jerobeam Fenderson are known for their Oscilloscope Music project, where the visuals are drawn using sound. In order to get the closest possible correlation between image and sound, the exact same signal that is connected to the left and right speakers is also connected to a laser projector’s X and Y inputs, producing complex lissajous images. Over the last decade Jerobeam Fenderson and Hansi3D have created ever more elaborate techniques to explore this largely uncharted field of audiovisual music, resulting in a full length album, as well as the unique 3D-audio software OsciStudio.

Hansi Raber has been active in the vicinity of programming, mathematics, music and art for the past 20 years. His works often have a chaotic lightness that portraits certain aspects of the fabric of reality. His pieces have been shown at the MAK Museum of Applied Arts Wien, ZKM Center for Media Arts Karlsruhe, Centre Pomidou Paris and many other places.

Jerobeam Fenderson is an audiovisual artist and electronic tinkerer based in Vienna, Austria. He likes to envelope himself behind multiple unassociated personas. He has performed at Laser Dome Seattle, Brut Wien, Ars Electronica Linz, Elevate Graz, Unsafe and Sounds Wien, and the Toulouse Hacker Space Festival. His works reached have large audiences online and have been featured in Wired Magazine, IEEE Spectrum and BBC Click.

Fra x DJ Saratonin (BOOSTER CLUB)

Sarah and Milo have been DJing together in a Duo since 2021 and founded B00STER CLUB together, a DJ- and Community Project that is centered around BIPoC, Queers and trans people.

Fra (he/him – Milo) is a DJ and visual artist based in Vienna. In all of his work the praxis of collectivity/sharing is a core value. His sound can depend on his mood that day and the contexts of the party but it can range from slow, melancholic and sad to hyper, electric and rough. His music and way of mixing is always in relation to the people he makes music with. As music making for him is almost never an act of complete solitude. Fra entered the music scene through queer and feminist spaces, mostly DIY – in his own projects he tries to incorporate DIY and free party. Every set varies in the genres. To name a few: Breakbeat, Deconstruced Club/Post-Club, DnB, Dubstep, UK Garage, Jersey, Footwork, Bass Music, DnB, Hardcore, Pop, various forms of Tek, Dance/Electronic.

DJ Saratonin (they/them) explores a variety of genres, including Ballroom, Baltimore and Jersey Club Music, Ghetto Tech/House, a bit of Neoperreo and Deconstructed Club Music and a lot of hits. Drawing inspiration and empowerment from Afro-American contexts, they value the communities behind these genres and believe that dance and music are instrumental in community building.
